چکیده

Carnation crop in Colombia is one of the main income generating activities Colombian floriculture. However, growth dynamics and its relationship with thermal time are unknown. For this reason, objective research was to determine development carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) cv. ‘Moon Light’ when grown a greenhouse Bogotá savanna. This developed based on phenological stages accumulation Growing Degree Days (GDD). Fresh dry weight fitted logistic model that generated sigmoid type curve. The flower 'Moon light' presented constant from 15.3 GDD (stage 0 rice) 777.6 (cut point). Absolute Growth Rate (AGR) increased slowly during phase I. It presents rapid gain until reaching cut-off point value 0.035 g per GDC an GDC. Relative (RGR) continuous decrease initial 0.0049 g-1 bullet stage 0.0024 at point. Through results obtained, floriculture sector will have technical tool within productive projection variety Light' greenhouse.

A Quantitative Framework for Flower Phenotyping in Cultivated Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.)

Most important breeding goals in ornamental crops are plant appearance and flower characteristics where selection is visually performed on direct offspring of crossings. We developed an image analysis toolbox for the acquisition of flower and petal images from cultivated carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) that was validated by a detailed analysis of flower and petal size and shape in 78 comme...

Transcriptional regulation of three EIN3-like genes of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L. cv. Improved White Sim) during flower development and upon wounding, pollination, and ethylene exposure.

Using a combination of approaches, three EIN3-like (EIL) genes DC-EIL1/2 (AY728191), DC-EIL3 (AY728192), and DC-EIL4 (AY728193) were isolated from carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) petals. DC-EIL1/2 deduced amino acid sequence shares 98% identity with the previously cloned and characterized carnation DC-EIL1 (AF261654), 62% identity with DC-EIL3, and 60% identity with DC-EIL4. DC-EIL3 deduced a...

Sequence Analysis of the Genome of Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.)

The whole-genome sequence of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) cv. 'Francesco' was determined using a combination of different new-generation multiplex sequencing platforms. The total length of the non-redundant sequences was 568,887,315 bp, consisting of 45,088 scaffolds, which covered 91% of the 622 Mb carnation genome estimated by k-mer analysis. The N50 values of contigs and scaffolds we...

The role of ethanol or acetaldehyde in the biosynthesis of ethylene in carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) cv. Yellow Candy

Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) cv. Yellow Candy flowers were treated with ethanol solution (4%) in the absence or presence of 1 or 10 mM L-methionine, or ethanol or acetaldehyde solution (0.05%), in the absence or presence of 1 mM aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid (ACC). Spermidine in petals was measured over time in flowers treated with 4% ethanol or distilled water. Ethanol treatment si...
